The calming rhythm lulls me into a drowsy drift. I float freely with the slight current. I must keep one eye open, though. That ornery pair of catfish like to catch me off guard.

And just like that, it is daytime. I blink to get my bearings. Bluefish and the minnow swim expectantly to the top of the water, so I follow. Hey, I'm Laura, and I consider myself a fairly easy going girl. I am loyal to my family and friends, sometimes to a fault. Im currently going into my sophmore year at Delaware Valley College aka "The National Farm School." No lie. But I love it, and I love all the great friends I've made there. Especially my sorority sisters, Omega Chi! O Chi or die <33 When Im not working or studying, I like to be outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking...all that sweaty, dirty, backwoods junk  I like to party with my friends, whether it be in a loud music filled basement or sitting around a campfire in someone's backyard. Having fun and making hilarious memories is what I'm all about. I want to experience the most out of life, and for this reason I also LOVE to travel...I've been to six different countries: England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and Peru. In the Amazon Rainforest I realized that it doesnt take much to keep me happy, that my greatest calling could be found in one of the most remote places on earth, away from materialistic "necesseties"--it was there that I felt more at home than ever in my life. I find nature in its most untouched and simple state to be the most beautiful thing in the world, and I want nothing more than to be a part of protecting and conserving that. |
